Mold Damage – Wantagh Kitchen Cabinet

Mold damage to this Wantagh home’s kitchen cabinetry was caused by condensation from the dishwasher. The mold was discovered by the odor it produced. The homeowners suspected mold but didn’t know where it was hiding. They called on SERVPRO of Bellmore / Wantagh to help with their problem. We used moisture detection meters to locate the pockets of moisture behind the dishwasher. The before photo shows the mold that was found in the dishwasher cabinet after we removed the dishwasher. Our industry certified technicians cleaned the mold damage from the affected cabinets and treated the surfaces with an antimicrobial to inhibit any future mold growth.
